Mahana Films Close Remake Rights Deal on Vuulr in 2 Weeks

Mahana Films, a young production company in the Indian film industry, recently acquired remake rights for an upcoming project with the help of Vuulr’s global content sourcing service.

Their first joint production, Faraaz, directed by renowned filmmaker Hansel Mehta, made its debut at the BFI London Film Festival 2022. Looking ahead, Mahana Films had their sights set on a remake of an award-winning Thriller film, produced by one of Philippines longest running movie studios. They turned to Vuulr to get connected with the rights holder.

Connecting with Rights Holders in New Territories Through Vuulr’s Content Sourcing

When Vuulr first received the brief, neither the distributor nor the title in question was listed on the global marketplace. Fortunately, Vuulr provides a content sourcing and curation service for buyers.

Within a week of receiving the brief, the Vuulr team connected with the rights holder based in the Philippines, and had the film listed on the platform, ready for a licensing offer to be made. All Mahana Films had to do was to create an offer with their desired rights and terms to initiate the negotiation.

Two weeks later, the Remake Rights deal was successfully closed on the Vuulr marketplace.
